PORTAGE HILL ART GALLERY PRESENTS:
Painters Who Pot / Potters Who Paint
August 1 - August 26 • Opening August 5, 7-9 PM
Entry Requirements:
Open to any artist who works both as a clay artist and painter. Throughout the history of art many painters have discovered the pleasure of working with clay. These have included many eminent artists from the past including Picasso, Vlaminck, Gauguin,
Matisse, and Jackson Pollock. This is a contemporary National Juried Show of current
artists who work in both of these mediums. Each accepted artist is expected to show both clay work and painting.

Chautauqua Lake Erie Art Trail

Audrey Kay Dowling will be showing her recent work at Portage Hill Art Gallery,10-5 all days. Weather permitting her clay studio will be open and periodically Audrey will be doing a clay demonstration on those days.

May 30, 31 and June 1, 3-4 PM
Drawing Spring Flowers

Learning event at Portage Hill Art Gallery taught by award winning artist, Audrey Kay Dowling.  Several different drawing techniques will be taught - May 30 will focus on line drawings, May 31 on shading and June 1 on color. The class may go on location for this class- all classes will start from Portage Hill Art Gallery. $30 per session. Materials will be provided.  Call 716-326-4478 to register.

Rte 394 Art Corridor Open Gallery Night- Portage Hill Art Gallery

The Art Loft, Reno Pottery, and the Octagon Gallery at the Patterson Library will have special evening hours for this Open Gallery Night along and near Rte. 394. This is a great time to discover and support the local Chautauqua Region Art scene along Rte. 394 from Chautauqua to Westfield.  Refreshments will be provided at each location.

Painting the Colors of Chautauqua Fall class- Plein Air Painting Class

Using color media of the student's choosing, we will work together in plein air to capture the peak of the fall colors. We will start at Portage Hill Art Gallery for some initial instruction in color theory and will then proceed to the world renowned Chautauqua Institution to paint. $100 per participant.
